Eligibility for I Year B.E. programmes

  • 1. A pass in HSC (academic stream) /CBSE/Pre-degree/Plus 2 equivalent school study with minimum eligibility in Maths, Physics, Chemistry
  • 2. A pass in HSC (vocational stream) with Engineering / Technology as vocational subjects and any 1 or 2 of the related subjects like Maths, Physics, Chemistry
  • 3. Any equivalent qualification approved and recognised by the State Board of Technical Education and Training / Higher Secondary Board of Tamil Nadu and Universities in Tamil Nadu

Certificate from the employer stating such person (Applicant’s parent) is a permanent employee along with any one of Income Tax return, PF Slips, etc. and 5 year or more work tenure.


Candidates must have minimum pass marks

  • 1. ST / SC / SCA / MBC & DNC / BC / BCM candidates are can also apply under Open Competition in addition to the reservation made for them
  • 2. A candidate who are eligible as per the university norms will be getting the admission either through Management or through the open competition category.(AU Counselling)

Admission Policy and Process

Admissions are made as per State Government Norms. 65% of seats through Single Window Counseling and 35% of seats are filled through the Consortium of Self-Financing Professional Colleges, Tamil Nadu, as per the norms of Government of Tamil Nadu.

Document Retention Policy

Original Certificates will be retained until getting Directorate of Technical Education approval.

Reservation Policy

Seats are reserved for different categories according to TNEA Reservation Policy PERI Institute of Technology follows TN government reservation policy.Anna University conducts TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission) for engineering aspirants who are seeking admissions in Tamil Nadu based colleges. There are specific categories like OC, BC, BCM, MBC, DNC, SC, SCA and ST which are offered admissions through TNEA reservation criteria.

  • TNEA 2020 Reservation is based on the rules and guidelines laid down by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
  • Seats have been reserved for different categories according to TNEA Reservation Policy.
  • TNEA 2020 Application Process is expected to start in the first week of May 2020.
  • Candidates shall be given admission based on their performance in class 12th examination. TNEA Eligibility Criteria TNEA 2020 Category-Wise Seat Distribution As per the rules of reservation for TNEA 2020, the selection of the candidate will be based on seven categories. These seven categories are- OC, BC, BCM (BC Muslim), MBC and DNC, SC, SCA and ST reservation.

The details of the Category-Wise Seat Distribution is given below

  • Communal reservation is strictly considered for the natives from Tamil Nadu. The community recorded by the candidate in TNEA Application Form should fall under the list of communities approved by Government of Tamil Nadu.
  • Candidates must have his/her Permanent Community Certificate in permanent card format or electronic form or digitally signed e-certificate from the specified authorities on or before the last date prescribed for submission of online application.
  • Candidate must keep a note that certificates obtained from any other state will not be considered for document verification.
  • Candidate belonging to a specific community from the district must obtain his/her certificate from the respective district. The certificate must be received on or after 28th October 2009.
  • A candidate who does not submit the permanent community certificate at the time of filling the application form shall fall under open competition category.
  • ST / SC / SCA / MBC & DNC / BC / BCM candidates are can also apply under Open Competition in addition to the reservation made for them.
